WEEKEND!!!!!

This past week seemed to last FOREVER!!!  Work was busy and a little on the chaotic side but overall it was a good week, except for the fact that it seemed like it was never going to end!  But alas, it did and here we are in the middle of the weekend!! Today was a BUSY day and I didn't really get much accomplished at home as I had hoped, but it was a good day!  The weather was gorgeous.  I got to spend some time with good friends.  When out for a simple, but nice dinner.  Liam was a very good boy all day long and went to bed very easily.  Now, I am enjoying a nice, much desired wine spritzer, which I am really glad that I bought this morning!

Tomorrow, we are going to be out all day, buying tires for the truck and hitting the flea market.  I love flea markets, although I haven't very high expectations for tomorrow.  We went about a month ago and it was pretty disappointing.  So much so that we said we weren't ever going to go back.  However, a co-worker of Henry's said that it is much better now that the weather is nicer.  So, seeing as how we will be driving right by it, we will stop and look around.  Either way, a day out and about with the Little Man should be fun!

I like weekends!  Life should have more weekends!

Weekend? What weekend?

Another weekend has come and gone?  Seriously?

Where the hell did it go?  I have no freaking idea!

What the heck did I accomplish?  Absolutely nothing!

I really did have big plans for this weekend.  I was going to clean up the house.  I was going to organize a bunch of Brownie stuff (to hopefully get some of it OUT of my house!)  I was going to go through all the munchkin's clothes and take stuff to the consignment store.  I was going to do our taxes.  I was going to do some baking.  And I was going to dye my horrible hair.

I didn't do any cleaning.  I didn't even look at the Brownie stuff, so I will be stuck with it all in my house for at least another week.  I started to go through the munchkin's stuff tonight, but had to stop so he could go to bed.  I didn't look at the taxes . . . I don't want to look at the taxes . . . I just want the refund to magically appear in my mail box.  Baking, I baked and decorated a birthday cake for my mother in law, but didn't get anything else done.

And well, my hair is still horrible, I don't remember the last time I dyed it, but I think the roots are now longer than the part that is still coloured from the last time.  On top of that, there is far too much gray in it for my liking, seriously, where did all this grey come from because I would really like to send it back with a nasty message to stay the hell away from my head.

So, it's back to work tomorrow.  Back to making another list of things that I want to do next weekend, "when I have time".  Will I ever learn that I don't have time on the weekend?  And that I really don't have any more desire to do these things than I do during the week?  Probably never!

When is my Weekend?

"The weekend -- one or two days, typically Saturday and Sunday -- is a time during which most paid workers do not work. This is a time for leisure and recreation, or for religious activities. There is substantially less activity on many websites on weekends."  (http://www.websters-online-dictionary.org/definition/weekend)

That does not at all sound like my weekends . . . how about yours?  I no longer get to sleep late on weekends, unless 6:30 am counts as sleeping in.  I spend my days cleaning and organizing the house, doing laundry, grocery shopping, and whatever else I didn't have the time or energy for during the week . . . all in between looking after a one year old.

Gone are the days when I could just tell hubby that I was going out shopping and go with out any worries. Gone are the days when I can go out for a girls night.  Gone are the days when I can do anything without planning ahead and packing a diaper bag complete with snacks and sippy cups.  Gone are the days when the weekend is, like the definition states, a time for leisure and recreation . . . the weekend is now the time for my "other job" the one without a pay cheque!

Side note . . . as proof of how busy my weekend days can be, I started writing this post at about 8:00 am and am not posting it at almost 5:40 pm.

So much to do, so little time . . .

I can't believe that it is the end of September already! Although I enjoy the weather, this time of year with the warm sunny days and beautiful fall colours, there are many things that I dread - digging potatoes and carrots from the garden, picking all the tomatoes, peppers and other things that are left in the garden and figuring out what to do with them and finding the time to do it before they spoil and then pulling out all the garden plants before winter. Because pulling out the dead, rotten, slimy plants in the spring is even worse! (And yes, I know this from experience!)

In what's left of this weekend (because I didn't accomplish a darn thing today!) that's what I'll be doing while my little man bounces in his exersaucer and laughs at me. Hopefully, I will get tomatoes and peppers (along with a bunch of other ingredients) made into some spaghetti sauce and lasagna for the freezer. And I NEED to make some baby food, or else the bottomless put that I call Liam won't have anything to eat this week! There are many other things that I hope to get accomplished, however I know that it isn't realistic, so I consider it a productive weekend if I get that much done!

So much for a quiet, relaxing weekend . . . I guess that they just don't exist anymore!
